Backstabbing is hurtful

I was quite shocked whilst reading Mr McLarons “Ten Search engine optimization Myths and Facts” as I find them being a personal attack towards me, defacing and bad mouthing my theories, and misguiding a net-community who need people to trust, since they are not very net-savy.

These 10 mythical points have no substantial backing, but are based on personal ideas and arguments, there is no proof in the pudding, so to speak, that those 10 points are myths, especially those considering Meta Data, Hyper Linking, Sex Sells, etc…

Fact is, I have had more experience on the net than most people who have been commenting and making fun of my site. Also, how can people just proclaim myths without scientific and net-based proof?

I have probably made more money with my donations-system during the last 2 weeks than certain people by selling their questionable product. Also, in comparison to those self proclaimed SEO pro’s I have been presenting my ideas (W-TEP) and theories multiple times, publicly, how often have these pro’s done it?

It is a fact that Meta data is one of the core factors to get traffic increased on your site. Also, SEX SELLS, this theory is ancient by now, and so common, it’s simple…92% of web traffic is based on Sex related searches and content, now that’s HUGE! Also all images carry metadata which gets picked up by search engines just because one cannot see that physically doesn’t mean it doesn’t exits, simple!

I’m a little disappointed; net-ettique is definitely an issue in this society. There is constant backstabbing going on, bickering, fighting, it’s like a net-cyberwar!

This is not a personal attack, just a few words of advice. I hope you read this with that in mind.

“These 10 mythical points have no substantial backing, but are based on personal ideas and arguments” – Guy’s article, yes lacking in references, is for the most part right on the money. Your posts on the other hand, seem to be all about (strange) personal ideas and arguments.

“Fact is, I have had more experience on the net than most people who have been commenting and making fun of my site” – surely for someone who has worked in IT for a number of years knows that the web changes from day to day. Algorithms fly out the window on a whim to make way for more streamlined, more robust processes. Your ideas still seems to be stuck in the late 90’s.

For a start I recommend you read up on how Google, Yahoo and other big players rank content – it would do you and your credibility rather good.

I don’t necessarily agree with Guy’s post, much less yours but I do think you need to get a bit of a reality check. Guy is not attacking you directly and your sensitivity on this topic seems a little OTT.

I’ve been following your blog the last few days and I’ve been fighting back the desire to comment on your site. Seriously though this blog has to be a joke? I just can’t believe that you really believe the drivel that you’re subjecting us to.

Dear Justin Hartman, whatever you mean with .OTT I am guessing its some new-age technical word and has little rlevenace to my theories! I was attacked directly, go read the post, all my theories are attacked there, that is not fair!

And since you are part of the clan of disrespectful who belittle my site and call it a joke I will just ignore your comment and won’t bother clicking on your link.

I’m quite pleased actually that you’re not visiting my site although you might actually learn something if you did.

    Blot-on, they’re not IT shortcuts, they’re TLAs.

I’m thinking, if you’re such the Net genius, why did you have to ask what OTT meant when you could have just googled it?

You forgot you could google it, didn’t you? ;)
